19 And my God will liberally supply (fill until full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. 20 To our God and Father be the glory [d]forever and ever. Amen.
This is one favorite scripture among those of us in the body of Christ. We love to quote it from time to time especially when things are not working out and times are tough, we encourage ourselves by saying that “My God shall supply all my needs in Christ Jesus!” Amazing, I was reading the verses just before that and something hit me.
This is what Paul says before we get to the famous verse
15 And you Philippians know that in the early days of preaching the gospel, after I left Macedonia, no church shared with me in the matter of[c]giving and receiving except you alone; 16 for even in Thessalonica you sent a gift more than once for my needs. 17 Not that I seek the gift itself, but I do seek the profit which increases to your [heavenly] account [the blessing which is accumulating for you]. 18 But I have received everything in full and more; I am amply supplied, having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent me. They are the fragrant aroma of an offering, an acceptable sacrifice which God welcomes and in which He delights.
Wow, now that sheds some light. The Philippians had partnered with Paul in his evangelistic work by sending him financial support. Paul says no other church apart from the Philippians had offered him financial help. When he was in Thessalonica, more than once the Church in Philippi sent him financial help to meet his needs. Paul says that because of what they had done their heavenly account is accumulating with blessings, and then he tells them;
Because of what they have done,
Because they chose to partner with him in ministry,
Because the sent financial support to ensure that Paul’s needs were met,
Because they met Paul’s needs therefore making it possible for him to focus on ministry and not worry about his daily needs;
Then God will supply their every need according to His riches in glory just as they had made sure that Paul’s needs were met.
No one can do it alone, in ministry we have to Partner. Paul had the anointing and calling to take the gospel to the gentiles. We read of how he prayed and people were healed and he did great exploits for God but he still needed others to have his needs met.
We at Family media have needs we cannot meet, expenses that we need to meet monthly to ensure that the gospel is broadcast every day, so we are coming to you and asking you to partner with us through your financial support so we can keep Jesus on the airwaves and keep telling of His grace and plan for salvation to all who tune in.
Why? Because we owe it all to Jesus!!
